The Hammond HCT484814H is a UL 508A Type 3R current transformer cabinet measuring 48 in high, 48 in wide and 14 in deep (1219 x 1219 x 356 mm). It is designed as a current transformer box to house and protect instrument current transformers in outdoor applications, and it also serves as a general purpose enclosure for junction, meter, transformer and relay work. For electricians and panel builders, it provides protection against rain, sleet, snow and dripping water.
Because this cabinet is 30 in or wider, the body and covers are formed from 12 gauge galvanized steel. The top has an integral drip shield and the sides are seam free. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished inside and out with a recoatable ANSI 61 smooth gray polyester powder.
Access is through two removable doors on permanently installed lift-off hinges, secured with a handle and fitted with padlocking provisions. The drawing shows a combined door width of 48.34 in, a door height of 47.32 in and a door opening of 45.98 in wide by 46.12 in high. Mounting holes are provided through the back of the enclosure, laid out on 45.00 in by 45.00 in centres, and ground studs are shown on both the body and the doors.
