Hammond CST4400 48x10x6 Empty Splitter Trough, Type 1 Steel

CST4400 is the empty, less-blocks version of the 48 x 10 x 6 in CST Series splitter trough, the 400 A size on the ordering table, delivered as a bare Type 1 steel enclosure with a hinged, screw-secured door. It is intended for electricians, electrical contractors and facilities teams distributing a service to multiple loads in indoor locations.

Because CST4400 ships without splitter blocks, it gives the enclosure only; the ordering table lists splitter block reference CSBL400 for this size, and the CST Series lists splitter blocks and grounding kits as accessories. The same body is offered with factory-installed blocks as CST4403 (3 wire) and CST4404 (4 wire), rated 400/400 A CU/AL.

The trough is formed and spot welded from 14 gauge mild steel and measures 48 in high, 10 in wide and 6 in deep (1,219 mm x 254 mm x 152 mm). A series of knockouts is provided on each side, with 0.88, 1.13 and 1.38 in diameters shown on the part drawing, and the hinged door is secured with a screw and fitted with a padlocking hasp. Cover and enclosure are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

The CST Series is CSA Certified and complies with IEC 60529, IP20 for Type 1 indoor use. CST4400 ships boxed at 43 lbs (19.50 kg), and the part is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.
