Hammond CAGNUT1224-100 12-24 Square Hole Rack Cage Nuts, 100-Pack

CAGNUT1224-100 is a 100-piece package of 12-24 thread cage nuts for square-hole rack rails, supplied in a plastic jar. It is intended for IT and AV integrators, electricians, OEM engineers and facilities teams who mount servers, switches, patch panels, PDUs, UPS systems and other rack equipment, or who need to replace cage nuts that have been lost or damaged during equipment moves, adds and changes.

The cage nut is made from spring steel, heat treated by austempering to 40-45 R/C for consistent spring tension and secure retention in the rail, and finished in zinc plating for corrosion resistance. The rear-loading design snaps into standard 0.375 in (9.54 mm) square holes to create a threaded mounting point, and the nut is specified for use with panel (rail) thicknesses of 0.064 in to 0.105 in, making it compatible with Hammond cabinets and most industry-standard square-hole racks.

Overall dimensions from drawing NTS18097 are 9.7 mm (A) across the cage, 13.2 mm (B) and 13.7 mm (C) body dimensions, with a 3.0 mm (D) and 6.7 mm (E) profile. The recommended torque specification for the series is 31.4 +/- 20% inch-lbs. Shipping weight for CAGNUT1224-100 is 1 lb (0.45 kg).
