The C4XSC884SS is a square 8 x 8 x 4 in (203 x 203 x 102 mm) stainless steel junction box with a heavy duty screw cover, rated Type 3, 4X and 12. It gives electricians and OEM panel builders a small, shallow wiring, terminal or pull box for locations exposed to washdown, weather or corrosion.
Body and cover are 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes, so you punch only the entries your job needs. Captivated stainless steel cover screws thread into sealed wells, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the cover. Enclosure and cover are unpainted with a brushed #4 finish.
Per the drawing, the body measures 8.13 x 8.13 in and the cover 8.19 x 8.19 in, with a 6.63 in high x 6.63 in wide opening, 7.50 x 7.50 in of clear space available on the door and 3.86 in of usable depth. Shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg).
The box is UL 508A Listed and cULus Listed per CSA C22.2 No 94 for Type 3, 4X and 12, and complies with NEMA Type 3, 4X and 12 and IEC 60529 IP66 (UL File E65324). It is REACH and RoHS compliant. There is no provision for an inner mounting panel; the mounting foot kit C4XMTGFOOT is sold separately, and replacement cover screws (1421A4XLCS25SS) and washers/sealed wells (1421A4XLCW25) come in packs of 25.
