Hammond C3R24246ESCNK 24x24x6 NEMA 3R Galvanized Steel Screw Cover J-Box

The C3R24246ESCNK is a NEMA Type 3R painted galvanized steel junction box with a screw cover and no knockouts, measuring 24 in x 24 in x 6 in (610 mm x 610 mm x 152 mm) H x W x D. It is designed for use as a wiring/junction box and provides protection against rain, sleet, snow and dripping water, so electricians and contractors can use it for outdoor splices, pull points and terminations.

The box is formed and spot welded from 14 gauge galvanized steel, with a drip-shield top and seam-free sides, front and back. A slip-on removable cover is fastened with plated steel screws, oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured, and a grounding kit is provided. Enclosure and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. Because the box has no knockouts, conduit entries can be placed where the job needs them.

External mounting feet handle installation. The part drawing shows an overall height of 25.50 in, a cover measuring 24.48 in square, a door opening of 22.64 x 23.11 in and 22.75 x 22.75 in of clear space available on the cover, with an overall depth of 6.46 in. At 24 x 24 x 6 in it is the largest box in the series, and the only size formed from heavier 14 gauge galvanized steel.

The C3R24246ESCNK is listed to UL-50 Type 3R and cUL Type 3R to CSA Standard C22.2, No. 94, and complies with NEMA Type 3R and IEC 60529, IP24. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a box at 46 lbs (20.87 kg).
