The AHKL1 is a Type 12 (N12) locking handle kit with a single point latch. It adds a key locking handle to most 1418 Series single door enclosures, giving facilities teams a simple way to restrict access to electrical equipment. It is designed for field installation and does not fit the 1418 J Series.
As a single point kit, the AHKL1 includes a handle and a latch cam. The locking handle rotates counter clockwise, the opposite direction to the non-locking AHK handles. All parts are plated or painted for corrosion resistance.
The manufacturer drawing gives handle dimensions of 4.26 in x 2.52 in x 1.24 in, with a 4.74 in dimension in the front view. The corresponding drawing dimension on the non-locking AHK1 is 3.86 in.
Because it uses the same single point latch arrangement as the AHK1, the AHKL1 is a direct way to add key locking to a 1418 Series single door enclosure in the field.
The AHKL1 ships in a box with a shipping weight of 0.74 lbs (0.34 kg) and is REACH and RoHS compliant. Three point locking versions are available in the series as the AHKL2 and AHKL3.
