- 1610 VA (CCS) high voltage plate transformer
- 3,500V C.T. R.M.S. secondary: 375ma CCS, 565ma ICAS
- 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary (Black & Black input leads)
- Runs full wave bridge or full wave C.T.
- Enclosed 4 hole chassis mount with minimum 6" leads
- Secondary leads exit through rubber bushings (2,000 VAC and above)
- Class A insulation (105 degrees C); Hi-Pot tested at minimum twice secondary voltage
- CSA certified (209651); RoHS and REACH compliant
The 739 is a 700 Series high voltage (plate) transformer rated 1610 VA, with a single 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary and a 3,500V C.T. R.M.S. high voltage secondary. It suits builders and service technicians who need a centre-tapped plate winding for a rectified high voltage supply running from a 115 VAC line.
The high voltage secondary is rated 375ma under CCS (Continuous Commercial Service) and 565ma under ICAS (Intermittent Commercial or Amateur Service); the 1610 VA figure is a CCS rating. The unit can be run in either a full wave bridge or a full wave C.T. rectifier circuit, and the series design guide gives the voltage and current factors for each rectifier and filter arrangement.
Construction is enclosed with a 4 hole chassis mount and minimum 6" long leads. Insulation is Class A (105 degrees C), each design is Hi-Pot tested at a minimum of twice the secondary voltage, and the series is CSA certified (209651). Because the 3,500V C.T. secondary is at 2,000 VAC or above, its leads are brought out through rubber bushings. The part is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.
Primary wiring for the 739 is simple: the 115 VAC input is on the Black and Black leads. The same 1610 VA, 3,500V C.T. rating is also offered as the 739A, which has a dual 117/234 VAC primary. Shipping weight is 34.7 lbs (15.74 kg).
Note that the part's short description reads "1400VA", while its long description, attributes and the series table all rate it at 1610 VA, the highest VA rating in the 700 Series.
Ideal For
- High voltage plate supplies for vacuum tube equipment
- Full wave bridge rectified high voltage DC supplies
- Full wave centre-tapped (C.T.) rectifier supplies
- Amateur radio (ICAS) intermittent service

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the ratings of the 739?▾
The 739 is rated 1610 VA (a CCS rating) with a 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary and a 3,500V C.T. R.M.S. secondary rated 375ma. CCS and 565ma. ICAS.
What do CCS and ICAS mean?▾
CCS is Continuous Commercial Service and ICAS is Intermittent Commercial or Amateur Service. The VA rating is specified as CCS.
How is the 739 primary connected?▾
It is a 115 VAC only model; the input is on the Black and Black leads.
What rectifier circuits can it be used with?▾
The unit can be run full wave bridge or full wave C.T.
What is the difference between the 739 and 739A?▾
Both are rated 1610 VA with a 3,500V C.T. secondary. The 739 has a 115 VAC primary; the 739A has a dual 117/234 VAC primary.
How are the high voltage leads brought out?▾
