Hammond 29830PSLA 120x95x34 mm Shallow Diecast Aluminium Box

The 29830PSLA is the shallow version of the Eddystone 120 x 95 mm footprint, measuring 119 mm x 94 mm x 34 mm (4.7 in x 3.7 in x 1.34 in). It accepts the same 111.12 mm x 85.62 mm maximum P.C. board as its deeper sibling but keeps the profile low for flat, surface-mounted electronics.

Box and lid are die-cast from aluminium alloy to BS1490, LM2M, supplied in a natural finish. The material is tough yet easy to machine, so cut-outs and holes can be added to suit the design. A lap joint between lid and box provides protection against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is rated IP54.

The ordering table gives 4.76 in (121 mm) length, 3.78 in (96 mm) width, 1.34 in (34 mm) total depth and a 0.16 in (4 mm) lid. The drawing shows 120.80 mm [4.76 in] x 95.50 mm [3.76 in] x 33.80 mm [1.33 in]. It ships in shrink wrap at 0.52 lbs (0.24 kg).

The purchased assembly includes the lid, the box and 4 cover screws. The lid is retained by M3.5 x 12 countersunk screws with a POZIDRIV No. 2 head into countersunk lid holes, with a recommended torque of 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. Side walls have a low draft angle of 2° or less for easy PC board mounting. Replacement cover screws are available as SCR0230-100 (package of 100).

This is an Eddystone design; the Eddystone brand was, purchased by Hammond in 1998. The factory can modify 29830PSLA by milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t formats. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
