Hammond 26827PSLA 188x120x57 mm Diecast Aluminium Enclosure

The 26827PSLA shares the long 188 mm x 119 mm footprint of the largest Eddystone box but at a lower 57 mm height (7.4 in x 4.7 in x 2.24 in). That combination gives plenty of board area in a lower-profile housing, useful for instruments, audio effects and control electronics that need length more than height.

Box and lid are die-cast from aluminium alloy to BS1490, LM2M, supplied in a natural finish. The material is tough yet easy to machine, so cut-outs and holes can be added to suit the design. A lap joint between lid and box provides protection against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is rated IP54.

In the ordering table it is 7.44 in (189 mm) long, 4.72 in (120 mm) wide, with a 2.20 in (56 mm) total depth and a 0.16 in (4 mm) lid. The drawing dimensions it at 188.50 mm [7.42 in] x 120.00 mm [4.72 in] x 56.30 mm [2.22 in]. It weighs 1.08 lbs (0.49 kg) shipped and is packed in shrink wrap.

The purchased assembly includes the lid, the box and 6 cover screws. The lid is retained by M3.5 x 12 countersunk screws with a POZIDRIV No. 2 head into countersunk lid holes, with a recommended torque of 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. Side walls have a low draft angle of 2° or less for easy PC board mounting. Replacement cover screws are available as SCR0230-100 (package of 100).

This is an Eddystone design; the Eddystone brand was, purchased by Hammond in 1998. The factory can modify 26827PSLA by milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t formats. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
