Hammond 266J24 24VA 24V/12V 1A Dual Secondary Transformer

The 266J24 is a 24 VA open-style transformer providing 24 V at 1 A in series (center-tapped) or 12 V at 2 A in parallel, from a dual 117/234 VAC primary. It fits equipment builders who need 24 V or 12 V AC at 1 A or 2 A respectively.

The primary accepts 117 or 234 VAC at 50/60 Hz; the 266 Series connection diagrams show the primaries wired in parallel for 117 VAC and in series for 234 VAC. The secondaries can be used as a center tapped secondary (24V @ 1A), parallel connected (12V @ 2A) or used individually, and the unit is designed for use with all windings engaged. Every unit is hi-pot tested at 2,000V RMS.

Construction is open style with minimum 6" long leads and a dual bobbin design, so no electrostatic shield is required. Class B insulation (130 °C) is used for extra protection, and the design is UL listed as a Class A (105 °C) design.

It uses mounting style V; the 266J24B is the style A alternative listed with a 24 V C.T. secondary only. The ordering table gives mounting style V, dimensions A 3.13 in (80 mm), B 2.00 in (51 mm), C 2.75 in (70 mm) and D 2.81 in (71 mm), a mounting hole width of 0.19 in (5 mm) and a weight of 1.6 lb (0.73 kg); shipping weight is 1.6 lbs (0.73 kg).

The series is UL listed (# E207860) Type 3AH and CSA certified (209651), and the 266J24 is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant (UPC 623980223971).
