Hammond 266J12 12.6VA 12.6V/6.3V 1A Filament Transformer

The 266J12 is a 12.6 VA transformer rated 12.6 V at 1 A with its secondaries in series (center-tapped) or 6.3 V at 2 A in parallel. It suits builders who need a 12.6 V center-tapped or 6.3 V, 2 A filament supply from a 117 or 234 VAC line.

The primary accepts 117 or 234 VAC at 50/60 Hz; the 266 Series connection diagrams show the primaries wired in parallel for 117 VAC and in series for 234 VAC. The secondaries can be used as a center tapped secondary (12.6V @ 1A), parallel connected (6.3V @ 2A) or used individually, and the unit is designed for use with all windings engaged. Every unit is hi-pot tested at 2,000V RMS.

Construction is open style with minimum 6" long leads and a dual bobbin design, so no electrostatic shield is required. Class B insulation (130 °C) is used for extra protection, and the design is UL listed as a Class A (105 °C) design.

It doubles the current of the 6.3 VA 266G12 at the same 12.6 V / 6.3 V outputs. The ordering table gives mounting style A, dimensions A 3.25 in (83 mm), B 1.75 in (44 mm), C 2.00 in (51 mm) and D 2.81 in (71 mm), a mounting hole width of 0.19 in (5 mm) and a weight of 1 lb (0.45 kg); shipping weight is 1 lbs (0.45 kg).

The series is UL listed (# E207860) Type 3AH and CSA certified (209651), and the 266J12 is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant (UPC 623980223957).
