Hammond 229A230 6VA 230V C.T./115V Low Profile PCB Transformer

The 229A230 is a compact 6 VA low profile power transformer from the 229 Series, built for direct mounting on a printed circuit board. Its universal dual primary accepts 115V or 230V at 50/60 Hz, and its secondary delivers 230V center-tapped at 25 mA when the windings are connected in series, or 115V at 50 mA when connected in parallel, giving one of the highest secondary voltages in the 229 Series, which spans 10V to 230V center-tapped. It suits OEM engineers and electronics designers specifying on-board power for equipment sold into both 115V and 230V markets.

Construction uses a dual split bobbin with balanced windings and a semi-toroidal design. The result is low primary to secondary coupling and low EMF radiation, and no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B, rated 130 degrees C, and the unit is hipot rated at 1,750V RMS.
