The 229A20 is a 6 VA low-profile power transformer from the 229 Series for printed circuit board mounting. A universal dual primary accepts 115/230V at 50/60 Hz, and the secondary is rated 20V C.T. @ 300ma in series or 10V @ 600ma in parallel, making it a flexible choice for electronics designers building one board for multiple mains voltages.
The 229A20 gives 20 V centre-tapped at 300 mA, or 10 V at 600 mA with its windings paralleled.
The design uses a dual split bobbin with semi-toroidal construction, giving low primary to secondary coupling, balanced windings and low EMF radiation, so no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B (130 degrees C) and the insulation system is hipot rated at 1,750V RMS.
