Hammond 195M30 20mH 30A Single-Coil Heavy Current DC Choke

The 195M30 is a single-coil, heavy current chassis mount choke rated 20 mH at 30 A DC. It is intended for engineers who need a filter inductor for high current power supply filtering at 30 A DC.

This choke uses the open core and coil construction of the 195 Series with 4-slot bracket mounting. Its winding resistance is 0.045 ohms and it carries Class B insulation, and it is the highest-current 20 mH part in the 195 Series table. The series table lists dimensions A 6.00 in (152 mm), B 7.63 in (194 mm), C 5.16 in (131 mm), D 5.00 in (127 mm) and E 5.88 in (149 mm), with mounting slots G of 0.28 x 0.56 in (7 x 14 mm). Across the 195-196 Series, inductance and resistance are held to a 15% tolerance, inductance is measured at rated D.C. current, and connections are made to a screw terminal or heavy copper tabs with holes. The series is rated for operation from -40C to 85C and storage from -40C to 105C, with a recommended maximum operating voltage of 600 VAC winding to core. Chokes in the series are hipot tested at 2,500 VAC. The chokes are UL approved under Type 3AH, E207860, 30V7, and this part is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.

Where a 60 Hz to 10,000 Hz AC application is involved rather than DC filtering, the manufacturer points to the 197 Series instead.
