Hammond 195A300 0.1mH 300A Heavy Current Chassis Mount Choke

The Hammond 195A300 is the highest-current single coil choke in the 195 Series: 0.1 mH (100 uH +/-15%) rated for 300 A DC. It is designed for high current power supply filtering and is aimed at engineers and integrators building DC supplies that carry very high currents.

Its assembly drawing marks it as a reactor with Class "B" (130C) insulation, UL listed under file E207860, Type 3AH, 30V7, and labelled Made in Canada. Connections are made through lugs. As with the rest of the series, it is an open core and coil choke with 4-slot bracket mounting, hipot tested at 2,500 VAC, with a recommended maximum operating voltage of 600 VAC winding to core. Inductance is measured at rated D.C. current with a 15% tolerance on inductance and resistance.

Series table dimensions are A 7.50 in (191 mm), B 7.00 in (178 mm), C 6.38 in (162 mm), D 6.00 in (152 mm) and E 5.25 in (133 mm), with larger 0.37 x 1.00 in (9 x 25 mm) mounting slots than the 195A200. The drawing gives 6.63 in max, 7.50 +/- 0.063 in, 6.00 +/- 0.063 in, 4.50 +/- 0.063 in, 6.60 +/- 0.125 in, 6.38 +/- 0.125 in and 5.25 +/- 0.125 in, a 0.365 x 1.0 in slot and 0.27 +/- 0.015 in diameter holes.

The 195A300 weighs 46 lbs (the drawing carries a caution noting the weight), with a shipping weight of 48 lbs (21.77 kg). It operates from -40C to 85C, stores from -40C to 105C, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. For AC applications from 60 Hz to 10,000 Hz, the manufacturer points to its 197 Series.
