Hammond 182G18 225VA Toroidal Transformer, Potted Center, Dual 18V

The 182G18 is a 225 VA toroidal power transformer with dual 18 V secondaries. Wired in series they deliver 36 V center-tapped at 6.25 A; in parallel, 18 V at 12.5 A. The dual 117/234 VAC primary runs at 50/60 Hz, so the part suits higher-current DC supplies and amplifier power stages for either mains voltage.

The manufacturer shows this part as REPLACED WITH 1182G18. The 182 Series is being discontinued as a stocked series and is available while quantities last, with the 1182 Series taking its place.

The 182G18 has a potted centre and measures 4.97 in (126 mm) outside diameter by 1.90 in (48 mm) high. It mounts on a 1/4-20 centre bolt 2.50 in (64 mm) long. Units of 225 VA and larger ship with one bottom rubber insulating pad and mounting hardware, and the table lists bottom rubber washer only. Leads are flexible and at least 8 in long. The part is Hi-Pot tested at 4,000 V RMS between primary and secondary, CSA certified to C22.2 #66 (file 209651), UL recognized to UL506 (file E207860) and CE certified to IEC950, as well as RoHS and REACH compliant. Use a slow-blow fuse, time delayed breaker or soft start to handle toroidal inrush current.
