The 170C is a 300VA hard wired autotransformer from the 170 Series that works either as a step down (230VAC to 115 VAC) or step up (115VAC to 230VAC) transformer. It is a 300VA model that shares the 3.13 in (80 mm) A dimension of the 170B in a longer 4.00 in (102 mm) B dimension, and is intended for flexible world wide applications where equipment needs to run on a different line voltage.
It is a single-winding design, so it does not provide isolation; use it where equipment is already isolated and only a voltage change is required. It operates at 50 or 60 Hz. These units do NOT convert line frequency, so equipment must still be suited to the local supply frequency.
Connection is by flexible leads, 8" minimum length.
