The 168D is a 500VA hard wired autotransformer from the 168 Series, built for manual line voltage adjustment of electronic equipment or small appliance operation from a 115VAC input. It is a mid-range 500VA model and the largest of the three CSA certified units in the series.
It uses a single winding, so it does not provide isolation; it is meant for use where equipment is already isolated and only a voltage change is required. The input is 115VAC at 50 or 60 Hz for flexible world wide applications, and output taps are provided at 85, 95, 105, 110, 115 and 125VAC. These units do NOT convert line frequency. With taps running from 85VAC up to 125VAC, the 168D can bring an output below or above the 115VAC input, and its 500VA capacity sets the load it can handle on any tap.
Connection is by flexible leads, 8" minimum length. Overall dimensions for the 168D are A 3.75 in (95 mm), B 4.00 in (102 mm), C 4.60 in (117 mm), D 3.00 in (76 mm) and E 2.80 in (71 mm), with a listed weight of 8 lbs (shipping weight 8 lbs (3.63 kg)).
