The 166F2 is a 0.63 VA filament-type transformer that drops a 115 V, 60 Hz single primary to 2.5 V C.T. at 0.25 A. It is intended for very low voltage filament and indicator circuits in OEM and restoration work.
As a 166 Series part it uses an economical single-primary design, an open-style channel bracket for two-hole chassis mounting, and minimum 6 in long leads. The dual bobbin construction means no electrostatic shield is required. Windings use Class B insulation (130 degrees C) for extra protection, although the design is UL listed as a Class A (105 degrees C) design, and each unit is Hi-Pot tested at 2,000 V RMS. The 166F2 drawing shows black primary leads and green secondary leads with a green/yellow lead on the secondary side.
