The 1599BBKBAT is the battery-door version of the black 1599B handheld enclosure. It is built for portable, battery-powered handheld instruments and controllers, with a separate door giving access to the battery compartment.
Box and lid are flame retardant ABS with a UL94 V-0 flammability rating. The outside matches the other 1599B models: 5.12 in (130 mm) long, 2.56 in (65 mm) wide and 1.02 in (26 mm) deep in the ordering table (part page nominal 130 x 65 x 25 mm). The inside measures 124.13 x 59.82 x 19.50 mm. Because the battery compartment occupies one end, the maximum printed circuit board is 53 x 89.25 mm rather than the 123.5 mm length of the non-battery model.
Battery holders for the 1599B size, sold separately, include the BH1AAAW (1 AAA cell), BH2AAAW (2 AAA cells) and BS61 (1 - 9V cell). Holder kits include the holder, wires and a foam anti-rattle pad. The 1599BD-BULK ABS divider slides into the card guides to separate the cells from the electronics.
Like the rest of the flame retardant line, the 1599BBKBAT closes with M3-0.5 machine screws into brass bushings (recommended torque 30-40 cN.m), has a recessed top for a membrane key pad, and includes two keyhole knockouts for wall mounting. It ships with the box, lid, battery door and 4 cover screws. Note that the IP54 design applies to versions without a battery door.
