Hammond 1598JSGYPBK 279x198x76 mm Gray Case with Black Plastic Panels

1598JSGYPBK is the J-size 1598 instrument case in light gray general purpose ABS, supplied with black plastic end panels. Its large footprint and 3 in nominal height give designers an all-plastic, two-tone desktop enclosure for big circuit boards with tall components.

Nominal size is 11 in x 7.8 in x 3 in (279 mm x 198 mm x 76 mm); overall dimensions on the drawing are 280.10 mm x 199.50 mm x 75.80 mm. The inner box is 269.60 mm x 189.64 mm x 68.00 mm and holds a P.C. board up to 268.60 mm x 184.50 mm. The end panel area is 191.30 mm x 69.50 mm, with a 185.06 mm x 67.00 mm viewing area.

• Two sets of vertical 1.5 mm (0.062") board guides front and rear
• Horizontal card mounts on Eurocard centers; eight 3.51 mm board holes on bosses
• Standoffs take #6 x 1/4" (6.4 mm) screws, 1598ATS100, not included

The halves are secured with self tapping screws into plastic standoffs and are not recommended for repeated assembly and disassembly; replacement #4 x 5/8" (15.9 mm) screws are 1591TS100. The case includes top and bottom cover, black plastic end panels, two cover screws and four rubber feet, and ships shrink wrapped at 1.39 lbs (0.63 kg).

The 1598JSGYPBK is designed to meet IP54 and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Spare black plastic panels are 1598PLJBK and tilt bail kit 1598TH2 fits this size.
