Hammond 1597DIN6GY 6 Module 105 mm DIN Rail Enclosure, Gray

The 1597DIN6GY is a 6 module DIN rail enclosure measuring 3.54 in x 4.13 in x 2.28 in (90 mm x 105 mm x 58 mm). It gives control panel designers and IoT hardware builders a wider housing for boards and devices that mount on standard symmetrical 35 mm DIN rail, in applications the series lists as industrial drives and controls, automation, HVAC and IoT.

Each purchased enclosure includes base and cover. The drawing states the cover is made from polycarbonate and the base from PPE+PS, and the series describes a light gray polycarbonate main body with a dark gray PPE and PS mounting base. The material carries a UL94 V-0 flammability rating and the enclosure is designed to meet IP20. It assembles with snap closures and no hardware. The drawing recommends 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m) PCB screw torque and lists the 1553WTS100 #2 x 3/16 in plated Plastite self-tapping screw (pack of 100).

The 1597DIN6GY has 4 cover spaces and, per the series ordering table, uses the wider cover family: 1597DINCOV11GY closed, 1597DINCOV12GY oval, 1597DINCOV13GY vented and 1597DINCOV14GY knockout. Covers are sold individually so you can mix types across the spaces.

It ships in shrink wrap at 0.12 lbs (0.05 kg), is REACH and RoHS compliant, and has UPC 623980524320. The enclosure can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t. The manufacturer notes that some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, thread locking compounds, cutting fluid and strong solvents, can damage its plastic enclosures, so use only plastic-safe cleaners.
