Hammond 1593SALGY 92mm Gray Handheld Case with Battery Door

The 1593SALGY is a compact light gray ABS plastic hand held instrument enclosure from the 1593AL series, sized at 92 x 66.5 x 21 mm. It is aimed at OEM and electronics designers building small hand held meters, remotes and controllers around a printed circuit board, with a built-in battery compartment so the power source stays accessible without opening the case.

The body is general purpose ABS (UL94 HB) with a satin texture, shaped to fit comfortably into the hand, with a recessed top for a membrane display or keypad. Lap joint construction protects against dust accumulation and splashing water. The halves are secured with self tapping screws; this light gray version includes nickel finish screws. The battery compartment uses the long life "three snap" door.

Nominal size is 3.6 in x 2.6 in x 0.83 in (91 mm x 66 mm x 21 mm); the drawing shows 92.00 mm [3.62 in] long, 66.50 mm [2.62 in] wide and 21.00 mm [0.83 in] high overall. Inside you get 48.36 mm [1.90 in] of length, 60.89 mm [2.40 in] of width and 14.80 mm [0.58 in] of height, and the top inlay measures 80.25 mm [3.16 in] x 55.06 mm [2.17 in] at 1.00 mm [0.04 in] deep for a label or keypad overlay. The aluminum panel is 1.63 mm [0.06 in] thick.

The purchased assembly includes top and bottom cover, 1 flat aluminum panel for the front, a battery door and 4 cover screws. Board mounting bosses accept #4 self-tapping screws (1593ATS50, #4 x 1/4", pack of 50); the printed circuit board is not supplied. Recommended cover screw torque is 57 lbf-in (40 cN-m). Replacement #4 x 5/8" self-tapping cover screws come as 1593MS100 (silver) or 1593MS100BK (black), aluminum panels as 1593SAL10 (pack of 10), infrared panels as 1593SIR10, and a nylon belt clip as 1599CLIP (black) or 1599CLIPGY (grey). The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant and can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing.
