The 1592ETCDBK is a black "T" display enclosure: a hand held T-case with an open display area and clear lens, sized 5.1 in x 9.21 in x 1.35 in (130 mm x 234 mm x 34 mm). It is aimed at designers of instruments and mobile data devices that combine a keypad with a display.
The wider display end measures 130 mm across and the keyboard section 95 mm, with a length of 235 mm and a depth of 35 mm with the lid fitted. The display opening is protected by a clear polycarbonate lens of 102 mm x 45 mm, and a plain mylar mask kit lets you fit a wide variety of display boards behind the lens, framed neatly by the mylar. The lens fits snugly into the case and protects against dirt and dust.
The case is molded from flame retardant ABS with a UL94 V-0 rating and is listed as IP54. Brass bushings on the front add durability to the fastening points, and eight PCB mounting bosses support the board; the maximum listed board size is 117.58 mm x 222.58 mm. Inner box height is 27.70 mm.
The back of the 1592ETCDBK is designed to accept a magnetic strip (1592ETM) or hook and loop mounting tab (1592ETV), both sold separately, along with a gasket kit (1592ETG) and rubber feet (1592ETRF). The display area is insert tooled, so a low-cost custom display area can be molded to specific requirements. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap.
