Hammond 1591XXUSBK 123mm Square Black Economy ABS Enclosure, IP54

The 1591XXUSBK is the black economy version of the 1591XXU size in the 1591XX multi-purpose enclosure series. Its body measures 4.86 in x 4.86 in x 2.25 in (123 mm x 123 mm x 57 mm), giving builders and OEMs an inexpensive way to house a horizontally mounted printed circuit board.

Economy versions are molded from general purpose ABS that is not flame retardant; this part carries a UL94 HB flammability rating. Instead of brass inserts, the lid is assembled with four #4 x 1/2" self-tapping screws driven into fully plastic posts, and black enclosures include black screws. Recommended cover-screw torque is 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). The enclosure is designed to meet IP54 for protection against dust and splashing water.

Inside dimensions are 115.66 mm x 115.66 mm with 55.40 mm of height and a 2.00 mm wall. The internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation, and integral PC board posts in both the box and lid take #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws (not included). The listed maximum board size is 114 mm x 114 mm.

The 1591XXUSBK ships in shrink wrap with the box, lid and 4 cover screws. Separate ABS mounting flanges (1591FUBK, 1591FUGY) are available, and the enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant.
