Hammond 1591XXSSBK Black Economy ABS Case, 113x85x44 mm, IP54

The 1591XXSSBK is the economy black S-size 1591XX case, keeping the 113 x 85 x 44 mm envelope of the standard model while using general purpose ABS and self-tapping lid screws as a lower-cost alternative. It is aimed at electronics designers and OEM engineers.

The box and lid are molded from general purpose ABS that is not flame retardant, rated UL94 HB, in a black textured finish. The lid is secured with #4 x 1/2" self-tapping screws driven into fully plastic posts, the assembly method used on the economy versions of this series. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws; black enclosures come with black screws. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54, providing protection against access of dust and splashing water.

Outside, the drawing gives 112.52 mm [4.43 in] long, 84.62 mm [3.33 in] wide and 44.00 mm [1.73 in] high. Inside there is 105.95 mm [4.17 in] of length, 78.05 mm [3.07 in] of width and 40.00 mm [1.57 in] of height, with a 2.00 mm [.08 in] wall. The largest PCB listed for this part is 77.9 mm x 105.79 mm, and it can be fitted in the box or in the lid; the board is not supplied.
