The 1591XXMSBK is the economy black version of the M-size 1591XX enclosure: the same compact 86 x 57 x 27 mm footprint, molded in general purpose ABS and closed with self-tapping screws driven into plastic posts, for cost-sensitive small electronics builds. It is aimed at electronics designers and OEM engineers.
The box and lid are molded from general purpose ABS that is not flame retardant, rated UL94 HB, in a black textured finish. The lid is secured with #4 x 1/2" self-tapping screws driven into fully plastic posts, the assembly method used on the economy versions of this series. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws; black enclosures come with black screws. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54, providing protection against access of dust and splashing water.
Outside, the drawing gives 86.24 mm [3.40 in] long, 57.04 mm [2.25 in] wide and 27.00 mm [1.06 in] high. Inside there is 80.85 mm [3.18 in] of length, 51.65 mm [2.03 in] of width and 23.00 mm [.91 in] of height, with a 2.00 mm [.08 in] wall. The largest PCB listed for this part is 80.7 mm x 51.51 mm, and it can be fitted in the box or in the lid; the board is not supplied.
