Hammond 1591XXGTBU 112 x 96 mm Transparent Blue Abs Pcb Enclosure

The Hammond 1591XXGTBU is the transparent blue version of the 1591XXG enclosure, a mid-size member of the 1591XX family of ABS plastic multi-purpose enclosures with PC board standoffs. It is intended for electronics designers, OEM engineers and technicians who need a general purpose plastic project box that holds a printed circuit board horizontally.

The transparent blue version is molded from general purpose plastic that is not flame retardant (flame rating UL94 HB), but it keeps the brass-insert construction: the lid fastens with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws into integral M3-0.5 brass inserts, with black screws supplied. Its finish is described as translucent blue textured.

The ordering table lists the 1591XXG at 4.41 in (112 mm) long, 3.78 in (96 mm) wide and 1.50 in (38 mm) deep; the part page gives a nominal size of 4.8 in x 3.7 in x 1.4 in (122 mm x 94 mm x 36 mm). Inside, the drawing shows 116.30 mm [4.58 in] x 89.75 mm [3.53 in] with 34.00 mm [1.34 in] of inside height and a 2.00 mm [.08 in] wall. A board up to 115.98 mm [4.57 in] x 89.26 mm [3.51 in] fits in either the box or the lid, mounting on the integral standoffs that accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws (not included).

This version has a plain lid. If you need to fix it to a wall or panel, accessory ABS mounting flanges are sold separately (1591FGBK black, 1591FGGY grey). The internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation.

The 1591XXGTBU is designed to meet IP54 against dust and splashing water, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.22 lbs (0.10 kg). Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
