Hammond 1591XXLBK 87 x 58 mm Black Flame-Retardant Abs Pcb Enclosure

The Hammond 1591XXLBK is the standard black flame-retardant version of the 1591XXL enclosure, a compact member of the 1591XX family of ABS plastic multi-purpose enclosures with PC board standoffs. It is intended for electronics designers, OEM engineers and technicians who need a general purpose plastic project box that holds a printed circuit board horizontally.

It is molded from easy-to-machine, flame retardant ABS plastic carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, and the lid is secured with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, which suits applications where the enclosure is opened and closed repeatedly. Black enclosures ship with black lid screws.

The ordering table lists the 1591XXL at 3.43 in (87 mm) long, 2.28 in (58 mm) wide and 1.54 in (39 mm) deep; the part page gives a nominal size of 3.4 in x 2.2 in x 1.4 in (86 mm x 56 mm x 36 mm). Inside, the drawing shows 80.85 mm [3.18 in] x 51.65 mm [2.03 in] with 35.00 mm [1.38 in] of inside height and a 2.00 mm [.08 in] wall. A board up to 80.00 mm [3.15 in] x 51.00 mm [2.01 in] fits in either the box or the lid, mounting on the integral standoffs that accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws (not included).

This version has a plain lid. If you need to fix it to a wall or panel, accessory ABS mounting flanges are sold separately (1591FLBK black, 1591FLGY grey). The internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation.

The 1591XXLBK is designed to meet IP54 against dust and splashing water, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.13 lbs (0.06 kg). Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
