Hammond 1591RBBK 112x62x31 mm EMI/RFI Shielded Black ABS Enclosure

The 1591RBBK is a black flame retardant ABS enclosure measuring 112 x 62 x 31 mm (4.41 x 2.44 x 1.21 in) with an RFI/EMI copper conductive coating inside. It is aimed at electronics engineers and OEMs who need a small plastic case with integral card guides for vertical PCB mounting plus shielding against electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. Its slim 31 mm depth keeps the case low profile while offering a longer board area than the 100 mm size.

The interior of each enclosure part is specially masked and sprayed with the copper conductive coating, for which the coating manufacturer specifies an attenuation of more than 75 dB from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The body is molded from flame retardant ABS carrying a UL94 V-0 rating and is designed to meet IP54. It has a smooth black finish with black screws.

The 1591B body drawing gives inside dimensions of 105.78 mm long, 55.78 mm wide and 26.90 mm high. Molded card guides on the internal side walls have a guide height of 21.90 mm and a slot width of 2.13 mm.

The lid is secured with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, suited to repeated assembly and disassembly; the recommended torque is 35.5-42.5 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and pre-installed brass inserts. For surface mounting, the matching plastic flange kit is 1591FBBK.
