Hammond 1591LFLGY 85x56x39mm Gray Flame-Retardant ABS Flanged-Lid Box

The 1591LFLGY is a light gray 1591L-size plastic enclosure whose lid carries molded wall-mounting flanges, so the finished assembly can be screwed flat to a panel, wall or chassis. It is intended for OEM engineers and integrators who need a compact housing for a vertically mounted printed circuit board, with card guides molded into all side walls that accept 1.5 mm (0.062 in) boards.

It is molded from easy-to-machine flame retardant ABS carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating. Lap joint construction between box and lid protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. The lid is held by M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threading into integral brass bushings, which makes repeated opening and reassembly practical; light gray versions ship with nickel finish screws.

Nominal size is 3.35 in x 2.2 in x 1.54 in (85 mm x 56 mm x 39 mm). The drawing gives an inside length of 78.71 mm [3.099 in], inside width of 51.71 mm [2.036 in] and inside height of 34.90 mm [1.374 in], with a guide height of 29.90 mm [1.177 in] and a slot width of 2.09 mm [.082 in]. With the flanged lid the overall length grows to 110.08 mm [4.334 in], with mounting holes spaced 98.20 mm [3.866 in] apart.

Each 1591LFLGY assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and pre-installed brass inserts; recommended cover screw torque is 35.5-42.5 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). Shipping weight is 0.15 lbs (0.07 kg), and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant. The inside of the lid accepts #4 self-tapping screws for mounting a board to the lid. For horizontal board mounting, 1591Z card adaptors are offered.
