Hammond 1591BSGY 112x62x31mm Light Gray General Purpose ABS Enclosure

The 1591BSGY is the light gray, general purpose ABS member of the 1591B size in the 1591 Series. Measuring 4.41 in x 2.44 in x 1.21 in (112 mm x 62 mm x 31 mm), it gives engineers and makers a neutral-colored plastic case for small circuit boards, sensors and interface electronics.

Its main design feature is the set of card guides molded into all side walls. They accept 1.5 mm (0.062”) thick boards, making the box ideally suited for vertical mounting of printed circuit boards. The drawing lists an inside length of 105.78 mm, inside width of 55.78 mm and inside height of 26.90 mm, with a guide height of 21.90 mm.

The enclosure is made from GPABS and carries a UL94 HB flame rating, so it is intended for uses where the flame retardant grade is not required. As an economy version it is assembled with self-tapping screws into fully plastic posts; the purchased assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws, and light gray enclosures include standard nickel finish screws. Recommended torque is 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m).

Lap joint construction guards against dust and splashing water, giving an IP54 rating. The 1591BSGY is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap at 0.13 lbs (0.06 kg), with UPC 623980137186.
