Hammond 1590Z250BK 400x230x180mm Black Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z250BK is the 400 x 230 x 180 mm 1590Z250 diecast aluminum enclosure with textured black powder paint inside and out. It gives integrators and OEMs a deep, finished and sealed housing for tall electronics installed outdoors or in harsh industrial spaces.

Listed size is 15.75 in x 9.06 in x 7.09 in (400 mm x 230 mm x 180 mm), matching the ordering table's 400 mm length, 230 mm width and 180 mm total depth; the lid depth is 20 mm and the drawing shows 170.60 mm inside depth. The maximum PC board is 380 x 213 mm, and the internal mounting shelf accepts the optional 1590Z250PL steel inner panel of the same 380 x 213 mm size. Shipping weight is 13.74 lbs (6.23 kg), packed in a bag.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy with tongue and groove construction and a replaceable one piece silicone rubber gasket rated -40C to +150C, shipped loose in the enclosure. Four recessed, self-captivating stainless steel cover screws (SC599-12, M6 - 1.0 x 28mm) hold the lid at a recommended 17.7-18.6 lbf.in (200-210 cN.m). The box and lid accept M6 machine ground screws, and the purchased assembly includes box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers.

The part page lists IP68, and the drawing shows cUL US listing under File E65324 with NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P. The series is independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68 and NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and rated IK08 per IEC62262. Customers should conduct their own suitability testing.
