Hammond 1590Z164GY Gray Long 360x122x80mm Diecast Enclosure, IP68

The 1590Z164GY is the long 360 x 122 x 80 mm (14.17 in x 4.82 in x 3.15 in) diecast aluminum enclosure finished in smooth gray RAL 7001 powder paint inside and out; the drawing lists it as Grey Enclosure - RAL7001 Gloss. Its narrow proportions (ordering table width 4.80 in / 122 mm) fit long boards, sensor electronics and terminal rows that need a sealed, neutral-colored metal housing.

It is built from diecast aluminum alloy with a two-piece tongue and groove joint and a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) and supplied loose. The lid is secured by four recessed stainless steel machine screws that are self-captivating and form threads on first installation. Recommended torque is 17.7-18.6 lbf.in (200-210 cN.m), and SC599-12 (M6 - 1.0 x 28mm) are the extra lid screws.

Inside the 1590Z164GY measures 348.79 mm [13.73 in] long, 111.11 mm [4.37 in] wide and 72.20 mm [2.84 in] deep, with a 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. An internal mounting shelf accepts the optional 1590Z164PL inner panel, and maximum P.C. board figures of 103.68 mm and 345.31 mm are listed. Box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers are included. Blind through wall-mount holes are outside the gasket seal.

The enclosure is cUL and UL listed (file E65324) and has been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262.
