Hammond 1590Z164 Long 360x122x80mm Diecast Aluminum Enclosure, IP68

The 1590Z164 is a long, narrow thick wall, water-tight diecast aluminum enclosure in natural aluminum, measuring 14.17 in x 4.82 in x 3.15 in (360 mm x 122 mm x 80 mm). The ordering table lists the width as 4.80 in (122 mm). Its elongated shape suits linear assemblies such as long circuit boards, sensor interfaces or terminal strips that need a sealed metal housing.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy. The tongue and groove joint is sealed by a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F), supplied loose inside the enclosure. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws secure the lid into tapped holes; they are self-captivating and form threads on first installation. For this size the recommended cover screw torque is 17.7-18.6 lbf.in (200-210 cN.m), and the extra lid screws are SC599-12 (M6 - 1.0 x 28mm).

The drawing gives inside dimensions of 348.79 mm [13.73 in] long, 111.11 mm [4.37 in] wide and 72.20 mm [2.84 in] deep, with a 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. The internal mounting shelf accepts the optional 1590Z164PL inner panel, and maximum P.C. board figures of 103.68 mm and 345.31 mm are listed. Included are box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers; the box accepts an M6 ground screw. Blind through wall-mount holes sit outside the gasket.

The enclosure is cUL and UL listed (file E65324) and has been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application. The 1590Z164 is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap at 4.23 lbs (1.92 kg).
