Hammond 1590Z164BK Black Long 360x122x80mm Diecast Enclosure

The 1590Z164BK is the textured black version of the long 1590Z164 diecast aluminum enclosure. Powder painted inside and out, it measures 14.17 in x 4.82 in x 3.15 in (360 mm x 122 mm x 80 mm), with the width given as 4.80 in (122 mm) in the ordering table. It is aimed at builders who need a narrow, dark-finished, sealed housing for long boards or linear assemblies.

The body and lid are diecast aluminum alloy joined by a tongue and groove seal with a replaceable one-piece silicone gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) and supplied loose. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws hold the lid into tapped holes, are self-captivating, and create threads on first installation. Recommended cover screw torque for this size is 17.7-18.6 lbf.in (200-210 cN.m); replacement screws are SC599-12 (M6 - 1.0 x 28mm).

The drawing shows inside dimensions of 348.79 mm [13.73 in] by 111.11 mm [4.37 in] by 72.20 mm [2.84 in] deep, with a 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. An internal mounting shelf takes the optional 1590Z164PL steel inner panel; listed maximum P.C. board figures are 103.68 mm and 345.31 mm. The enclosure is supplied with box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers, and mounts to a wall through blind holes outside the gasket.

The enclosure is cUL and UL listed (file E65324) and has been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262.
