Hammond 1590Z125BK 160x100x80mm Black Textured Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z125BK is a thick-wall, watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590Z Type 4X/ 6P series, finished in textured black powder paint. A mid-size, deep rectangular box for electronic instruments that need a sealed metal housing, it suits OEM engineers, electricians and integrators.

The ordering table lists it at 6.30 in (160 mm) long, 3.94 in (100 mm) wide and 3.15 in (80 mm) in total depth, with a 0.79 in (20 mm) lid depth; the part page gives the size as 6.3 x 3.94 x 3.19 in (160 x 100 x 81 mm). Shipping weight is 1.7 lbs (0.77 kg).

Construction is two-piece tongue and groove with a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F), that is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws fasten the lid, and the drawing shows the box accepting M4-0.7 cover screws and an M4-0.7 grounding screw. The lid screws are self-captivating and create threads on first installation, and the design is intended for repetitive opening and closing.

For installation, blind through-holes located outside the gasket protection allow easy wall mounting. It has an internal mounting shelf, and a steel inner panel (1590Z125PL) is sold separately. Spare SC583-50 lid screws, SCGM4-50 panel screws and the 1590Z125G gasket two-pack are listed for this size.

The series is cUL and UL listed (file E65324), independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68 and to NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, and carries an IK08 impact rating per IEC62262. Customers should confirm suitability for their application by their own testing. This black version is powder painted inside and out; the same size is also offered in natural and smooth gray RAL 7001.
