The 1590Z120GY is a thick-wall, watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590Z Type 4X/ 6P series, powder painted in smooth gray RAL 7001. A compact, rectangular sealed box sized for small circuit boards and instrument electronics, it suits OEM engineers, electricians and integrators.
It is 4.92 in (125 mm) long, 3.15 in (80 mm) wide and 2.32 in (59 mm) in total depth, with a 0.63 in (16 mm) lid; the drawing's overall size is 125.40 x 80.40 x 58.80 mm [4.94 x 3.17 x 2.31 in]. Inside it has 116.04 mm [4.57 in] length, 70.64 mm [2.78 in] width and 50.80 mm [2.00 in] depth, with an average wall of 3.81 mm [.15 in]. Maximum P.C. board size is 69.52 mm x 113.61 mm. Shipping weight is 1.08 lbs (0.49 kg).
Construction is two-piece tongue and groove with a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F), that is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed. Four recessed stainless steel M4 - 0.7 machine screws hold the lid, with a recommended cover screw torque of 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m). The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 2 ground screws with washers. The lid screws are self-captivating and create threads on first installation, and the design is intended for repetitive opening and closing.
For installation, blind through-holes located outside the gasket protection allow easy wall mounting. An internal mounting shelf accepts the optional 1590Z120PL steel inner panel. Spares are SC1550Z107-50 lid screws (50 pack, M4 - 0.7 x 25mm), SCGM4-50 copper ground hardware (M4 - 0.7 x 6mm / M4 washer) and the 1590Z120G gasket two-pack.
The series is cUL and UL listed (file E65324), independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68 and to NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, and carries an IK08 impact rating per IEC62262. Customers should confirm suitability for their application by their own testing. This gray version (RAL7001 Gloss on the drawing) is powder painted inside and out; the same size is also offered in natural and textured black.
