Hammond 1590Z080GY Gray 100x100x80mm IP68 Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z080GY is a square 100 x 100 x 80 mm diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590Z Series, a thick-wall, water-tight housing for control electronics, instrumentation and connection points that must survive rain, dust, hose-down and immersion. It suits OEM engineers, panel builders and field technicians who need a compact, rugged box with an internal mounting shelf.

The two piece tongue and groove body is cast from aluminum alloy with a 4.02 mm average wall. A replaceable one piece silicone rubber gasket (rated -40C to +150C) is supplied loose inside the box. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws hold the lid into tapped holes; the lid screws are self-captivating and form their threads on first installation, which makes the box well suited to repetitive opening and closing.

Nominal and drawing dimensions are 100 x 100 x 80 mm (3.94 x 3.94 x 3.15 in) with a 20 mm lid depth. Inside, the box measures about 90.05 mm long, 90.26 mm wide and 74.00 mm deep. The internal mounting shelf accepts M4 machine ground screws, and the optional 16 gauge galvanized steel inner panel 1590Z080PL is sold separately.

This version is powder painted inside and out in smooth gray (RAL 7001), listed on the drawing as Grey Enclosure - RAL7001 Gloss. Wall mounting uses blind through holes located outside the gasket protection, so mounting fasteners never compromise the seal.

The enclosure carries an IP68 rating, is cUL and UL listed (file E65324), independently tested to IP66, IP67, IP68 and NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, and carries an IK08 impact rating per IEC62262. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
