The 1590Z062BK is the textured black version of the 1590Z062, a 98 mm x 64 mm x 34 mm watertight diecast aluminum enclosure. It is aimed at designers who need a narrow, sealed metal housing with a black finish for control electronics, sensors or wiring in exposed locations.
Hammond powder paints this enclosure in textured black, inside and out, over a diecast aluminum alloy box and lid. The two-piece tongue and groove joint is sealed by a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket (rated -40C to +150C / -40F to 302F) that comes loose inside the box. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws hold the lid, and the enclosure is built for repeated opening and closing.
It measures 3.86 in (98 mm) long, 2.52 in (64 mm) wide and 1.34 in (34 mm) in total depth, with a 0.35 in (9 mm) lid. Inside dimensions per the drawing are 91.25 mm [3.59 in] x 57.24 mm [2.25 in] x 28.60 mm [1.13 in], and average wall thickness is 3.01 mm [.12 in]. There is no internal mounting shelf.
The 1590Z062BK is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and IK08 per IEC62262, and the series is cUL and UL listed. It wall mounts through blind holes outside the gasket seal. The shrink-wrapped assembly contains box, lid, gasket, 4 cover screws and 2 ground screws with washers and weighs 0.54 lbs (0.24 kg).
