The 1590XBK is the textured black version of the 1590X diecast aluminum enclosure: a flangeless 145 x 121 x 56 mm box suited to instruments, control electronics and OEM products where appearance matters as much as toughness.
It is cast from aluminum alloy that is easy to machine, then coated with tough polyester powder paint that keeps a lasting finish even after machining. Black screws are included to enhance appearance. A lap joint where the lid meets the box protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54.
Nominal size is 5.72 in x 4.77 in x 2.22 in (145 mm x 121 mm x 56 mm); the ordering table lists 5.71 x 4.76 x 2.20 in. Inside, the drawing shows 138.09 mm [5.437 in] length, 114.09 mm [4.492 in] width and 52.40 mm [2.063 in] height. Maximum P.C. board dimensions are listed as 113.09 mm and 137.09 mm, and the side walls have 2° or less draft.
The 1590XBK comes with box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in), or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) once a gasket is added. To upgrade to IP65 order gasket kit 1590XGASKET plus liquid resistant screws. Shipping weight is 0.83 lbs (0.38 kg) in shrink wrap, and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
