The 1590WYFBK is a water-tight version of the square 1590Y diecast aluminum enclosure, finished in textured black and fitted with a welded bottom flange for surface mounting. It suits OEM engineers, electricians and integrators who need a compact 92 x 92 x 42 mm housing for electronics that will face dust and liquid exposure.
Box and lid are cast from aluminum alloy and meet at a lap joint. The black version is coated with tough polyester powder paint for a lasting finish, even after machining, and black screws are included. This water-tight model is designed to meet IP65: a silicone gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure for you to fit to the lid, with lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in).
Nominal size is 3.62 in x 3.62 in x 1.65 in (92 mm x 92 mm x 42 mm). The drawing shows 120.65 mm [4.750 in] overall length across the bottom flange and 43.50 mm [1.713 in] overall height, with an inside cavity of 85.17 x 85.17 mm and 36.30 mm inside height. A P.C. board up to 84.17 x 84.17 mm fits, and the side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less for easy board mounting.
The purchased assembly includes box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes. Shipping weight is 0.64 lbs (0.29 kg), packed in shrink wrap. The 1590WYFBK is RoHS and REACH compliant; the replacement gasket kit is 1590YGASKET.
