The 1590WPBK is the black painted, water-tight version of the 1590P diecast aluminum enclosure. It is aimed at OEM product designers and integrators who want an IP65-designed metal housing with a finished black appearance and internal ribs for board mounting.
The die-cast aluminum alloy box and lid are painted with tough polyester powder paint that lasts even after machining, and black screws are included to enhance appearance. Lap joint construction and a silicone gasket, supplied loose inside the enclosure and not pre-installed, provide the seal.
Nominal dimensions are 153 x 83 x 50 mm (6.02 x 3.27 x 1.97 in) with the lid; the part page lists 6.03 x 3.27 x 1.98 in. Inside, the enclosure measures 146.29 mm [5.759 in] long, 73.98 mm [2.913 in] wide and 45.40 mm [1.787 in] high. Board guides take a P.C. board up to 143.22 x 73.12 mm, and side walls have a draft angle of 2 degrees or less.
Included are box, lid, gasket and 4 M3.5x0.6 cover screws. With the gasket installed, the recommended torque is 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in]. Listed accessories include black liquid resistant screws with O-ring (1550WMS100BK) and the 1590PGASKET kit. The 1590WPBK weighs 0.79 lbs (0.36 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
