The 1590WP1 is the natural aluminum, watertight version of the 1590P1 diecast enclosure, measuring 6.02 x 3.27 x 1.98 in (153 x 83 x 50 mm). With no mounting flanges and IP65 design, it is a general-purpose housing for circuit boards, controls and instrumentation that need protection from dust and water.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and this part has an unpainted natural aluminum surface that is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet helps keep out dust and splashing water, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes P.C. board mounting easier.
Inside, the box offers 145.69 x 75.79 x 45.50 mm (5.736 x 2.984 x 1.791 in), and the listed maximum P.C. board dimensions are 75.45 mm and 145.35 mm.
A silicone gasket is supplied with this liquid resistant enclosure, loose inside the box rather than pre-installed. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws (4X 6-32 UNC threads); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
