The 1590WN1FL is the flanged-lid, watertight version of the 1590N1 diecast aluminum enclosure. Nominally 4.77 x 2.58 x 1.57 in (121 x 66 x 40 mm) in natural aluminum, it has a wall-mounting flange integrated into the lid, designed to meet IP65 for electronics mounted on walls, panels and equipment.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and this part has an unpainted natural aluminum surface that is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet helps keep out dust and splashing water, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes P.C. board mounting easier.
The flanged lid brings the overall length to 149.50 mm (5.886 in). With the lid fixed to the surface, the box body carries the electronics and is secured with four cover screws.
A silicone gasket is supplied with this liquid resistant enclosure, loose inside the box rather than pre-installed. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws (4X 6-32 UNC threads); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
