Hammond 1590WEEBK 200x120x85mm Black IP65 Watertight Diecast Box

The 1590WEEBK is the water-tight textured black version of the 1590EE diecast aluminum enclosure, sized at 7.88 in x 4.73 in x 3.33 in (200 mm x 120 mm x 85 mm). It is a flangeless electronic instrument box for engineers and integrators who need a rugged, machinable metal housing that keeps out dust and splashing water.

Box and lid are made from die-cast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The lid and box meet in a lap joint, and this water-tight version is designed to meet IP65 with the included silicone gasket, which is supplied loose inside the enclosure (not pre-installed). The textured black finish is a tough polyester powder paint that gives a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included to match.

The drawing gives overall dimensions of 200.20 x 120.20 x 84.50 mm [7.882 x 4.732 x 3.327 in] and an inside box of 191.63 mm [7.545 in] long, 111.63 mm [4.395 in] wide and 80.00 mm [3.150 in] high. Maximum P.C. board dimensions are listed as 110.63 mm and 190.63 mm, and side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less for easy board mounting.

Unlike most 1590 sizes, the 1590EE uses metric hardware: six cover screws in M3.5 x 0.6 factory-tapped holes. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. Matching liquid resistant screws are 1550WMS100BK (M3.5 x 12mm with O-ring, pack of 100), and the optional replacement gasket kit is 1590DEGASKET. The 1590WEEBK is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 1.41 lbs (0.64 kg).
