Hammond 1590WBB2FL 120x94x38mm IP65 Diecast Enclosure, Flanged Lid

The 1590WBB2FL is the water-tight, flanged-lid version of the 1590BB2 diecast aluminum enclosure in a natural (unpainted) finish. It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need a compact metal instrument housing that can be screwed straight to a wall or panel and is designed to meet IP65.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine. The unpainted surface is vibra finished for a smooth feel with no sharp edges, and lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against access of dust and splashing water. A silicone gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure (not pre-installed) so you can machine the box first and fit the gasket afterwards.

Nominal size is 4.72 x 3.70 x 1.50 in (120 x 94 x 38 mm). The drawing gives an overall length across the lid flange of 148.00 mm [5.827 in] and an overall height of 37.75 mm [1.486 in], with inside dimensions of 113.77 mm [4.479 in] long, 88.27 mm [3.475 in] wide and 33.50 mm [1.319 in] high. Maximum PC board size is listed as 84.83 mm x 110.33 mm, helped by a low side wall draft angle of 2 degrees or less.

The wall-mounting flange is integrated into the lid and carries four 3.50 mm [0.138 in] holes. The assembly ships with the box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket fitted. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and a replacement 1590BBGASKET kit is available.
