Hammond 1590WBB 120x94x34mm IP65 Watertight Diecast Aluminum Box

The 1590WBB is the watertight version of the 1590BB, a broad, low-profile diecast aluminum enclosure at 120 x 94 x 34 mm nominal. The unflanged natural aluminum box gives 87.16 mm of inside width and is rated IP65 with its silicone gasket, suiting designers who need a wide, shallow metal case for larger circuit boards.

The box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and carry a natural aluminum finish that is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. A lap joint where lid and box meet guards against dust and splashing water, and a side wall draft angle of 2° or less eases PC board mounting. The maximum P.C. board dimensions listed for this part are 85.16 mm and 110.66 mm.

The listed size of 1590WBB is 4.7 in x 3.7 in x 1.34 in (119 mm x 94 mm x 34 mm), and the series ordering table gives a nominal 4.72 in (120 mm) x 3.70 in (94 mm) x 1.34 in (34 mm). It has no mounting flanges, so the outside is a clean rectangle of 119.50 mm [4.705 in] by 94.00 mm [3.701 in] by 34.00 mm [1.339 in] on the drawing. Inside, the drawing gives 112.66 mm [4.435 in] of length, 87.16 mm [3.432 in] of width and 29.75 mm [1.171 in] of height; the lid height is 0.16 in (4 mm).

As a watertight version it is designed to meet IP65 and includes a silicone gasket, supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed. The purchased assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket fitted. Replacement gasket kit 1590BBGASKET holds two pre-formed, adhesive-backed silicone gaskets.

It is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap at 0.32 lbs (0.15 kg), and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
