Hammond 1590TRPCOR Orange Wide Trapezoid Diecast Stomp Box Enclosure

The 1590TRPCOR is a painted wide trapezoid enclosure from the 1590-STOMP series of diecast aluminum stomp box enclosures, finished in Orange (RAL 2009) – an orange factory powder coat. It is aimed at guitar effects pedal builders, stomp box manufacturers, experimenters and OEM engineers who want a factory-coloured, unusually shaped housing instead of a plain rectangle.

The box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, a material that is tough yet easy to machine. Hammond powder coats it at the factory with a smooth, glossy polyester powder coat that gives a lasting finish even after machining, and the smooth surface allows easy adhesion of labels or silk screens. Colours are matched to standard RAL colours.

In the ordering table this wide trapezoid measures 95 mm (3.74 in) long, 122 mm (4.80 in) wide at the small end and 151 mm (5.94 in) wide at the large end, with a 39 mm (1.54 in) depth. The part page lists 3.74 x 5.95 x 1.38 in (95 x 151 x 35 mm), and the drawing gives 35.00 mm [1.378 in] inside height. Maximum PC board size is 88.3 x 143.32 mm, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes PC board mounting easier.

Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. The purchased assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws (6-32 UNC); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.53 lbs (0.24 kg), and can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing. Solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
