Hammond 1590TRPC Unpainted Wide Trapezoid Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590TRPC is the wide trapezoid enclosure from the 1590TRP-STP series of octagon and trapezoid diecast aluminum enclosures, supplied in an unpainted natural finish that is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Stomp box use is the series' most popular application, so it suits guitar effects pedal builders as well as OEM engineers and experimenters who want an unusual shape for a unique look.

The wide trapezoid is short (95 mm) but broad, flaring from 122 mm to 151 mm, giving an unusual shape for a unique look. Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, a rugged material that is tough yet easy to machine.

The standard version ordering table lists 3.74 in (95 mm) length, 4.80 in (122 mm) width at the small end, 5.94 in (151 mm) width at the large end and 1.54 in (39 mm) depth; the part page gives 3.74 in x 5.95 in x 1.38 in (95 mm x 151 mm x 35 mm). The drawing shows 89.30 mm [3.516 in] inside width and 35.00 mm [1.378 in] inside height. Maximum PC board size is 88.3 x 143.32 mm, and the side wall draft angle of 2° or less makes board mounting easy.

Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. Four #6-32 x 1/2" machine screws secure the lid into factory-tapped holes (recommended torque 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]); the assembly ships as box, lid and 4 cover screws, shrink wrapped, at 0.51 lbs (0.23 kg). It is RoHS and REACH compliant. The black counterpart is 1590TRPCBK, and the watertight version with gasket is 1590WTRPC.
